    • Will of Carter Langley (rec. in Greenville Co. Will Book B, Page #35, Apartment #9, File 637 South Carolina Greenville District. In the name of God Amen I Carter Langley being in a low state of health but of sound mind and memory praise be to God for the same do make and declare this my last will and Testament. To my lawful and beloved Daughter Anne Langley I do give and bequeath a negro boy slave for life named Jacob also a brown mare called Judy also Two feather beds and furniture to cows and calves and thirteen head of ogs four head of sheep, and the balance of the house old and kitchen furniture with all plantation tools I have. To my lawful and beloved son Thomas Langley I do give and bequeath a mulatto boy slave for life named Tolbart also one feather bed and furniture. To my lawful and beloved Daughter Ester Lister I do give and bequeath one negro boy slave for life named Edmon, also one feather bed and furniture, also to my two within mentioned Daughters Anne and Ester I give and bequeath all the Tract of land whereon I now live agreeable to the lines called for by the deeds. All the balance of my goods chattels and personal propertyto be sold and all my lawful debts paid and the balance to be equally devided between my three within named children. And I do nominate and appoint my said sn Thomas Langley and Street Thruston sole Executors of this my last will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void all and every other will & wills at any time heretofore by me made. And do declare this to be my last will & Testament, in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this twenty eighth day of Decemter one thousand Eight hundred and twenty two. signed: x Carter Langley, his mark witness Carey W.
